Embroidered bird

I love to stitch birds that I find in my garden.

At present the male chaffinch is in his bright spring colours. I make the backgrounds from plant dyed felt, in this case the dye used was Indigo. The stitching takes a long time as I use single strands of embroidery thread in many layers and I like to depict the character of the bird.
